Controversy
Travix's many brands have received a large proportion of negative complaints from customers, as compared to peers in the industry. Especially as the large volume of negative reviews and complaints, even with their seemingly positive rating draws suspicion from customers. Though, many customer complaints stem from the poor customer service available, when events happen or events go bad.
For example, Vayama has been seen in a few instances of simply leaving passengers stranded at airports, because of Vayama's use of a different ticketing system than airlines. Leaving hoards of passengers stranded, when airlines decide that Vayama issued tickets are not valid for travel.
History
Travix was established by a merger of CheapTickets (Beins Travel Group Ltd), Vliegwinkel, Flugladen, BudgetAir (Airtrade) and Vayama in January 2011. The oldest part of the company, CheapTickets.nl, was created in 2001 by Beins Travel in Oosterhout. At first, it published the price of tickets from vacation carriers, regular scheduled airlines and low-cost carriers in the Netherlands.
